The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has stated that it is doing a hard and difficult job despite the difficulties as any individual who stands before the courts deserve a fair trial. President of JSC Hisaan Hussain made the remarks while speaking at the launching ceremony of the Judiciary for Juniors workshop, an eight-day programme for youth who have an interest in the judicial field.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hisaan said it is time to knock on the doors of the courts whenever an individual's rights are unfairly violated. She said that in any such situation, everyone would want to be sure that there are judges who can decide the cases fairly. As such, she said the commission is working hard to ensure that rights for all individuals, adding it is a difficult and challenging task. She said that the judiciary needs not only judges and lawyers but also from other fields, such as technicians, mediators, and social workers as well. She also said that information technology (IT) skills, managers, and court officers are also needed.
Highlighting the workshop, which was launched in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and JSC, Hisaan said that it is a very good opportunity for the youth and that they will be more interested in the field by the end of the workshop.
