The National Centre for Holy Quran has extended the deadline for individuals who want to register for the 35th National Quran Recitation Competition.
The deadline has now been extended until November 2, according to the centre. The competition will be held from December 23 until January 1, 2023, in Male' City.
The centre stated that the competition will be divided into three categories, including Hafizes or individuals who memorised the Quran, school students, and institutions. In the student's category, schools within the Male' can participate in the competition under their own names. There will also be first, second, and third-place winners in each category and will be selected throughout the competition. In addition, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will award a special prize to the winner of each category.
The National Quran Recitation Competition has been held by the government since 1981 and it is organised to encourage the love of reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of individuals.
