First Lady attends International Day for Older Persons ceremony

First Lady Fazna Ahmed has attended the official ceremony held to mark the International Day for Older Persons. The ceremony was held at the Hafiz Ahmed School and was carried out in the native dialect of Fuvahmulah City. The theme of this year’s International Day for Older Persons is the Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World.

At the ceremony, a series of information sessions were held after serving breakfast to the attendees. The special invitees, guests, and senior citizens who attended the ceremony were given information on nutritional requirements for senior citizens, mental health, fraud prevention, and financial well-being for the elderly. The Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives Takeuchi Midori also attended the event.

First Lady Fazna will also be attending the final match and awards ceremony of the Ground Golf Tournament held to commemorate the International Day of Older Persons. She is scheduled to conclude her visit and return to Male’ City on October 15.
