Maldives sends greetings on Pakistan's Independence Day

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has extended warm greetings on the occasion of the 75th independence day of Pakistan.

In a tweet, President Solih extended warm greetings and well wishes to the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi, and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif on the joyous occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day on behalf of the people of the Maldives.

Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid also extended greetings to his counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the occasion. The foreign minister said the Maldives and Pakistan share a long history of cooperation and friendship based on shared values and mutual respect and expressed his sincere gratitude to Pakistan for its unwavering support towards the socioeconomic development of the Maldives. He also expressed confidence that the Maldives and Pakistan will continue to work together to advance the shared interests in the bilateral, regional, and international spheres.

To celebrate the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan, a Flag Hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission of Pakistan in the Maldives. The event was attended by a number of Pakistanis and Maldivians.
