Conduct and discipline must be top priorities for military personnel: CDF

Chief of Defence Force (CDF) Major General Abdulla Shamaal has stated conduct and discipline must be top priorities for all military officers and personnel. He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the passing out parade of the Indian Army Officer Training Academy in Chennai, India.

Speaking at the event, Major General Shamaal said younger generations and newly recruited officers must prepare to face new challenges, as countries are now facing whole new security challenges compared to the past. Therefore, he said it is important that all new officers remain vigilant and ready. He added conduct and discipline are essential to every military officer’s career, and called on all officers to make discipline a top priority.

During the ceremony, two female cadets from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) also graduated from training. The CDF met with the two cadets and their families to congratulate them on the achievement.

CDF Major General Shamaal is visiting India on an official invitation of the Chief of Army Staff of India General Manoj Pande. During the visit, he met with the Chief of Army Staff of India to discuss avenues of military cooperation between the Maldives and India.
