MTCC brought in 36 minibuses to the Maldives on July 16 to begin bus services in the Greater Male’ Region and the atolls. The buses brought to Laamu Atoll include four buses to be used in Gan and Fonadhoo, as well as two buses to be used in Isdhoo and Kalaidhoo.

MTCC is currently undertaking the final preparations to begin bus services in these regions. The bus routes and stops have already been allocated, while training of staff is currently ongoing. MTCC revealed it aims to commence services within the next three days.

The minibuses have a capacity of 20 passengers and operate on diesel fuel. The vehicles are designed to accommodate passengers in wheelchairs.
