RDC to redevelop Ameenee Magu of Male’

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted Road Development Corporation (RDC) to redevelop Ameenee Magu of Male’ City.

The contract for the project was signed during a special ceremony held on July 3. The contract was signed by Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed and Managing Director of RDC Moosa Ali Manik

The project involves paving the whole 1.7km length of Ameenee Magu with asphalt, and developing a new stormwater drainage system. The project was contracted to RDC at a price of USD5.5 million. The duration of the project is 7 months.

Ameenee Magu is one of the busiest roads of Male’ City, and one of the few roads that run across the length of the capital. The road is in poor condition, which causes difficulties to vehicles and pedestrians using the road.
