Maldives to administer fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has decided to administer the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to people over the age of 65 and those at high risk of infection in the Maldives.

HPA said it will administer Pfizer vaccine as the fourth dose. The dose will be given to those who have completed four months after receiving the third dose of the vaccine. Moreover, HPA has also decided to administer the third dose of the vaccine to children between the ages of 12-17.

HPA said vaccination will be opened in the Greater Male' Region on an appointment basis. HPA said vaccination will be opened in Dharumavantha Hospital, Hulhumale' Hospital and Dhamanaveshi. As such, Hulhumale' Hospital and Dhamanaveshi will administer the vaccine between 1300hrs to 1500hrs, and Dharumavantha Hospital will administer the vaccine from 1000hrs to 1200hrs. The vaccination arrangements in the islands will be made from public hospitals or health centres.
