JSC launches Case Management Portal

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has launched its Case Management Portal called Mathares.

The portal was launched in a ceremony held at the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) by the Attorney General and member of JSC Ibrahim Riffath. The Mathares Portal was developed under the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) project, funded and assisted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

JSC said the launch of the portal achieves the Action 3.1f, establishing a modern case management system and contributing to the strategy of reforming the commission to ensure judicial independence and accountability in the Strategic Action Plan (SAP) 2019-2023. It also allows systematic management of complaints and investigation at the JSC. The portal will also assist in strengthening our investigations by ensuring paper trail, automation, and saving time. It also contributes to our ongoing initiative of minimising the use of paper at work.

JSC said the project will be extended to personnel management of judges and its reporting mechanism, ensuring that data is effectively used in decision-making and operations.
