President addresses grievances of Hulhumale’ Phase II residents

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated the administration is addressing the concerns of the residents in Hulhumale’ Phase II. He made the remarks while speaking at the ceremony held to launch the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) bus service in Hulhumale’.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih said introducing the RTL bus service will ease the transportation difficulties faced by the residents of Hulhumalé, especially those living in phase II. The president said the administration had been working to establish the essential services required by the residents of Hulhumalé phase II. He noted the development of new schools, mosques, healthcare facilities, and roads is progressing.

Furthermore, President Solih noted the numerous grievances of residents filed with the President’s Office and assured them that the administration is closely monitoring the housing situation and continuously addressing their concerns. He also highlighted the importance of expanding essential services related to transport, education, and health in Hulhumalé Phase II, as the resident population is expected to rise to 70,000 as the administration hands over 6,000 flats and 1,000 land plots.

Additionally, President Solih commended the efforts of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), stating that it had made considerable progress in realising the administration’s goals of establishing an efficient, affordable, convenient, and sustainable nationwide transportation network.

Vice President Faisal Naseem, cabinet ministers, senior officials of the government, and MTCC attended the ceremony held to launch the RTL bus service. RTL is a subsidiary of MTCC. The company procured 15 buses, with a capacity of 86 passengers each, to commence the service.
