UNWTO Global Summit to be held in the Maldives

The Ministry of Tourism has revealed the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Global Summit on Community-based Tourism is set to be held from June 15-16.

The tourism ministry is collaborating with the UNWTO to organise three key events of the organisation, as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the tourism industry of the Maldives. As such, the 34th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UNWTO Commission for South Asia, along with the UNWTO Ministerial Roundtable on Tourism Resilience through Innovation and Digitalization in Asia and the Pacific, will be held at Crossroads Maldives on June 14.

The tourism ministry revealed the UNWTO Global Summit on Community-based Tourism will be held from June 15-16, with thematic sessions on gastronomy tourism, agro-tourism and community-based tourism. The ministry said the summit will be attended by local and international experts and professionals of the industry.
