The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has revealed plans to submit 22 bills to the Parliament of the Maldives in the second session of 2022.

AGO has published a list of bills the government intends to submit to the Parliament, in accordance with the parliamentary regulations. The parliamentary regulations state the government is required to send a list of bills it plans to submit to the Parliament before the start of a new session.

AGO submitted nine of the bills to the President’s Office to be proposed to the Parliament. The list consisted of important bills related to the judicial sector including amendment bills for the Judicature Act, the Judges Act, and the regulations of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). Other bills in the list include amendment bills for the Penal Code of the Maldives and the Prevention of Terrorism Act, as well as the Maldives Health Service Bill.
