Airport security management course conducted for aviation security staff

The Aviation Security Command (AVSECOM), in association with the U.S State Department, has conducted an airport security management course for aviation security staff working at Maldivian airports.

The course was conducted from May 15-24. The course was completed by 14 officers of AVSECOM, 5 officers of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and 5 officers of Maldives Police Service (MPS).

During the closing ceremony of the programme, Commander of AVSECOM Colonel Nasrulla Ibrahim Majdhee highlighted the importance of the programmes conducted under the aid of the US government to improve aviation security, and thanked the US government for the continued assistance. He also highlighted the importance of aviation security within the national security network, and urged all involved agencies and institutions to work together to enhance aviation security of the Maldives.
