Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has completed the development of the water and sewerage project in Goidhoo, Shaviyani Atoll.
The water and sewerage project in Goidhoo was contracted to MWSC in 2019 at a price of USD3 million. Fieldwork of the project began in January 2021.
The project involved developing a 15.9km water supply network with two RO plants, storage tanks and connections to 161 households. The project also involved developing an 8.7km sewerage network, with junctions, pumping stations and 163 household connections.
Following the completion of the project, a team from the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure visited Goidhoo to inspect the water and sewerage system and to conduct the necessary tests. The Goidhoo Island Council revealed the water and sewerage service is expected to be officially inaugurated within a month.
