Buses to be operated to Hulhumale’ Phase II every 15 minutes starting from June

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed buses will be operated every 15 minutes to Hulhumale’ Phase II starting from June 1.

Speaking to PSM News, CEO of MTCC Adam Azim said the difficulties currently faced by residents of Hulhumale’ Phase II in accessing bus services are expected to be resolved next month. Azim revealed new buses have been brought for the bus service to Hulhumale’ Phase II, allowing buses to be operated every 10-15 minutes to the area. He noted this would be especially beneficial for individuals travelling to school or work from Hulhumale’ Phase II.

MTCC has brought 15 new buses to expand its services in the Greater Male’ Region. All 15 buses are double decker buses with a capacity of 84 passengers.

MTCC commenced bus service to Hulhumale’ Phase II in October 2021, after recipients of Hiya flats began moving into the area. MTCC had initially operated buses every 30 minutes between Hulhumale’ Phases I and II, but have since launched a direct route to Male’.
