Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has awarded projects related to the development and upgrade of football grounds in three islands and a futsal pitch in one island.
The contracts were awarded for the development of football grounds in Kamadhoo in Baa Atoll, Kurendhoo in Lhaviyani Atoll and Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll, as well as the development of a futsal pitch in the Mathimaradhoo ward of Gan, Laamu Atoll. All contracts were signed at a special ceremony held at the youth ministry on May 12.
Construction of the subbase of the Kamadhoo Football Ground was contracted to Road Development Corporation (RDC). The project was awarded at a price of USD160,000. RDC is tasked with completing the project within 45 days after the site is handed over.
Development of a rostrum in Kurendhoo Football Ground was contracted to Fonumath Carpentry and Construction Private Limited at a price of USD258,000. The project is expected to be completed within 135 days.
Construction of the subbase of the Fonadhoo Football Ground was contracted to RG International Private Limited at a price of USD169,000. The duration of the project is 57 days.
Meanwhile, the development of a futsal pitch in Mathimaradhoo of Gan was contracted to Copains Investment Private Limited at a price of USD105,000. The duration of the project is 53 days.
