Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has brought in vehicles to expand the bus service in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
MTCC is currently providing bus transport services between Male’ City and Hulhumale’, which are frequently used by students and office workers. The company established direct bus routes between Male’ and Hulhumale’ Phase II in March and has brought in new buses for the route due to the increase in demand.
Chief Operating Officer (CEO) Adam Azim said the new buses will be brought into service in June in order to alleviate the challenges faced by residents of the Hiyaa flats in Hulhumale’ Phase II. The residents have expressed concern over the lack of adequate public transportation services in the area, which prevents them from taking their children to school on time.
MTCC stated that more buses will be brought into service in the future and vowed to provide permanent solutions to these issues. As such, the company has been working to expand and improve its services to allow buses to arrive at bus stops every 15 minutes.
