Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has prepared to begin the fieldwork of the new harbour development project in Gahdhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
MTCC has now mobilised the site to commence the project, which includes the complete renovation of the harbour. The project also includes the construction of 232m of the outer wall and the revetment of a 35m area. The harbour is being constructed with a small 26m long and 2m wide bridge to connect the land and the outermost part of the island. In addition, the pavement will be constructed in an area of 1,600sqm and lights will be installed at the harbor to make it easier to use the harbor at night.
The project was awarded to MTCC on December 22, 2021, to be completed within one year for a cost of USD 2.48 million. MTCC has been contracted to develop the harbour as a port which will benefit the people.
