Narudhoo harbour upgrade contracted to MTCC

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to undertake the harbour upgrade project of Narudhoo, Shaviyani Atoll.

The project was contracted to MTCC at a price of USD2.8 million. Scope of the project includes harbor dredging operations of 51,212cbm, channel dredging operations of 4120cbm, construction of a 371m breakwater, a 205m revetment, a 210m quay wall, a ramp, installation of 955sqm harbor pavement and installation of harbour lights. The project is to be completed within 365 days.

The project will increase the capacity of the harbour in Narudhoo by two-fold and create further opportunities for socio-economic growth in the island.
