UNODC donates two RHIBs to MNDF

United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has handed over two Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) to the Coast Guard of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) with grant assistance from the Government of Japan.

In addition to the two RHIBs handed over with grant aid from the Japanese government, navigational equipment for the purpose of coast guard vessels and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) were also handed over at the ceremony.

The Japanese government and the UNODC have provided numerous contributions to the MNDF Coast Guard over the years. As such, a number of facilities have been provided to monitor the Maldivian waters and maintain safety. The assistance provided has strengthened the capacity of the MNDF Coast Guard to protect and protect Maldivian waters.

Commemorative plaques were also exchanged between the Government of Japan and the Maldivian military at the ceremony. The ceremony ended with a demonstration of RHIB riding.
