Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Limited (MWSC) has completed the construction of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) facility as part of the water supply network development project in Henbadhoo, Noonu Atoll.
The water supply project in Henbadhoo was contracted to MWSC with the aim of resolving the issued faced by residents of the island in accessing clean water, due to the contamination of the natural freshwater lens in the island. The project involves developing an 8.34km water supply main network, along with two RO plants and three storage tanks as well as installing household connections to the main network.
MWSC revealed the construction of the RO facility to be established under the project has now been completed. The state-owned utility company stated borehole drilling, tank foundation casting and installation of the pipe network are currently in progress.
The project to establish a water supply network in Henbadhoo was contracted to MWSC at a price of USD2.65 million. The project was contracted to be completed within 1 year and 3 months.
