President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has vowed to solve the harbour and erosion issues in Dhidhdhoo, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll. He made the remarks at a meeting held with the Dhidhdhoo Island Council.
During the meeting, council members informed the president on issues of concern and required developments to the island. The council members also thanked the president for continuing the development projects on the islands despite the lockdown following the COVID-19 situation.
The council members also spoke about the difficulties faced in using the harbor, the lack of space in school, and the council office on the island. They also delivered information on economic and social developments required by the youth.
During the meeting, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assured to conduct a technical survey of soil erosion faced by the Dhidhdhoo to decide the solutions. The president also vowed to meet with relevant authorities regarding issues noted by the island council.
The president concluded the meeting by assuring to prioritise the development of all islands without any discrimination.
