President discusses expediting developmental pursuits in Fuvahmulah

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has held comprehensive discussions on the city's socio-economic progress and future development plans.

At the meeting held with members of the Fuvahmulah City Council at the President’s Office, Parliamentarians representing the constituency, the council members relayed to President Solih the needs and concerns of the residents and discussed ways to expedite ongoing and planned socioeconomic developmental projects. Some of the projects discussed at the meeting include harbour, road, and housing development, in addition to upgrading healthcare services. In addition, the council members requested the president to arrange for the development of additional roads after the completion of the ongoing road construction work.

Speaking with the council members about the growing demand for housing, President Solih assured them that the administration would work to address housing concerns in the city. Other topics discussed at the meeting include waste management, the need for a training and vocational education centre, strengthening policing, increasing the council’s financial capabilities, and tackling challenges to promoting tourism in the city. The president assured the council members that the administration would work towards finding amicable solutions to these issues. He went on to express his gratitude towards members of local councils and parliament for their support and cooperation in forwarding the administration’s development agenda.
