Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Global Success (IGS) to become the main partner of the first space mission of the Maldives.
The MoU was signed on February 27 by Managing Director of HDC Suhail Ahmed and the CEO of IGS Riffath Mohamed. HDC stated it takes great pride in becoming a partner of the historic mission, and expressed confidence the objectives of the mission can be achieved.
IGS launched the first-ever space program in the Maldives in November 2020, in partnership with KFS Space Foundation of the UK. The first target of the mission is to produce and test the first prototype satellite of the Maldives. The satellite is to be used to gather data on climate change and global warming.
