350 students to be trained under SFRW Programme

Ministry of Higher Education has contracted three training providers to conduct courses to train 350 students under the Skills For a Resilient Workforce (SFRW) Programme.

SFRW is an initiative by the higher education ministry to build a generation of skilled and resilient youth. On February 24, the ministry contracted Zikura International College, Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT) and Maldives Maritime Academy to conduct 11 courses to train 350 students under the programme.

Speaking at the ceremony held to award the contracts to training providers, Higher Education Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan stated the administration places a high priority on developing human resources across all sectors. He thanked training institutes and organisations for the assistance and support provided to the government in facilitating professional training to youth.

Courses to be conducted under the SFRW this year include MNQF Level 3 courses in Information Communication Technology (ICT), tourism and construction sectors. The ministry has also announced 35 new courses under the SFRW, to which application closes on March 10.
