Contracts awarded for development of infrastructure in three schools

Ministry of Education has awarded contracts for the development of infrastructure required in three schools in the atolls.

The contract to develop four new classrooms in Noonu Atoll Education Centre was awarded to Well Trading Private Limited. The project costs USD 260,000 and is expected to be completed within 120 days.

The contract to develop the hall building of Naivaadhoo School in Haa Dhaalu Atoll was awarded to Pawarey Investment Private Limited. The project was awarded at a price of USD 583,000, to be completed within 1 year.

Meanwhile, the contract to develop a multipurpose hall in Gaafu Alifu Atoll School was awarded to Karaa Construction Private Limited. The project costs USD 712,000 and is expected to be completed within 330 days.

The government is undertaking several projects across the atolls to increase the capacity of schools. As such, the development of additional classrooms is underway in several schools as part of efforts to implement single sessions in all schools.
