Ministry of Tourism has revealed Russia is currently leading the tourist arrival figures in the Maldives for 2022.
As per the latest statistics of the tourism ministry, the Maldives has recorded more than 20,000 tourist arrivals from Russia so far this year, accounting for 18.4% of all arrivals this year. Russia was the second top source market of tourists last year, with 222,422 arrivals.
The tourism ministry revealed UK is currently second on the list of most tourist arrivals to the Maldives this year, with 10,602 tourist arrivals. India, which had led the tourist arrival figures in the Maldives last year, is third on the list for this year so far with 9,044 tourist arrivals.
As per the statistics of the tourism ministry, the Maldives has recorded 122,575 tourist arrivals during the first 30 days of 2022. This is a 45.7% increase compared to the 84,148 tourist arrivals recorded during the same period last year.
