Dhaandhoo harbour expansion awarded to MTCC

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to expand and develop the harbour in Dhaandhoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll.

The agreement of the venture was signed by Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim. MTCC revealed the Dhaandhoo harbour is to be developed under state-of-the-art design. Under the project, a 529-meter harbour will be developed in the island, 81,404-cubic meters will be dredged for the harbour basin, and a 333-meter breakwater, 370-meter revetment, and 30-meter groynes will be constructed. Further, a 100 meter long and 3 meter wide concrete jetty will also be constructed as part of the project.

Dhaandhoo harbour project was awarded to MTCC for USD 4.5 million. The project is expected to be completed within 1 year and 4 months.
