Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the BML Startup Grant as part of the series of 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate the bank’s 40th anniversary in November.
The BML Startup Grant is a programme for emerging entrepreneurs to win a grant funding to start or grow a business in the Maldives. Four winning businesses will be awarded USD 32,300 each. BML will provide mentoring support for the winners to successfully implement their plans.
CEO and Managing Director of BML Tim Sawyer said the Startup Grant is part of the bank’s commitment to support businesses and strengthen its relationship with the start-up ecosystem in the Maldives. He said through the programme, BML is nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of the startup community to create jobs and opportunities to maximize positive impact for society. He added the bank hopes to see many individuals and businesses make use of this opportunity and contribute to the startup culture in the Maldives.
BML stated applications for the programme must be received by midnight on March 16. More details on the application and eligibility process can be found from the website of BML.
