Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has signed an agreement with Aged Care Maldives to train and certify the staff of the special needs home in Guraidhoo, Kaafu Atoll.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Aishath Mohamed Didi said the main objective of the programme is to ensure that the staff attending to old age patients in the special needs home receive the necessary professional training to provide a high-quality care for the patients. She noted the training will also help the staff to better manage their work load and provide care in a more professional manner.
The gender ministry said training programmes will be held every 4 months under the agreement signed with Aged Care Maldives. Under the agreement, Aged Care Maldives will also assist in conducting regular physiotherapy and exercise sessions for patients, and formulate diet plans with the help of dieticians.
