Foreign Minister of China to visit the Maldives in January 2022

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi, will undertake an official visit to the Maldives in January 2022.

The state councilor is visiting the Maldives on an invitation extended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives Abdulla Shahid during the latter’s visit to China in November 2021. The visit is due to take place on January 7, 2022, and will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and China.

During his visit to the Maldives, the state councilor will pay a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and will lead the Chinese delegation during the official talks between the two sides.
