Fenaka Corporation Limited has launched the project to interconnect the power grids of three islands in Laamu Atoll.
The project to interconnect the power grids of Isdhoo, Kalaidhoo and Dhanbidhoo in Laamu Atoll were inaugurated during a special ceremony held on December 26. The interconnection project will help to improve the electricity services provided in all three islands.
The central powerhouse established under the project will be located in Kalaidhoo, with the interconnection provided by transformers in 6 substations. The project includes the installation of a 15km medium voltage and 9.8km low voltage cable network.
Fenaka provides electricity services in more than 150 islands across the atolls. The company operates an interconnected power grid in the connected wards of Addu City, as well as three wards of Gan, Laamu Atoll.
