MTCC completes shore protection project in Fainu - Photo: MTCC
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the shore protection project in Fainu, Raa Atoll.
Under the project, MTCC has pumped 8,100 cubic metres of sand to the eroding area in Fainu, and constructed a 250-metre geobag revetment to protect the area. Following the completion of the project, MTCC has also carried out levelling of the dry-docking area for fishing vessels, a clean-up of various areas of the island and levelling of certain roads under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The shore protection project in Fainu was carried out at a cost of USD 575,000.
