Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed cases of influenza reported in November is five times less than in October.
Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. Statistics from the HPA show 685 individuals were tested and 104 were found positive for influenza in November. The statistics also show the highest cases of influenza were reported in October this year, with 598 positive cases. Additionally, six children were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for influenza in October.
Furthermore, the statistics show 22 cases of dengue fever were reported in November, which is an increase compared to the 10 cases reported in October.
