Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised travellers to obtain visas early before travelling abroad. The foreign ministry made the announcement after some travellers expressed concern over the delay in receiving their visas.
The ministry stated it has a consular responsibility to assist individuals in receiving their visas to travel abroad for business, education or even for the holidays or to participate in sports events. The ministry urged individuals to acquire the necessary information and obtain visas early if they are planning to travel abroad. It stated that it takes an average of two to three weeks to confirm the documents and process the visa.
The foreign ministry also stated that special consideration should be taken when planning to travel abroad, as obtaining visas might require more time due to the COVID-19 situation. Therefore, the ministry stated individuals travelling abroad should be aware of the latest information and begin work to obtain their visas early if they plan to travel abroad.
