Vice President concludes visit to Fuvahmulah

Vice President Faisal Naseem has concluded his two-day trip to Fuvahmulah City and returns to Malé City.

During the visit, Vice President Naseem officiated the signing of the coastal protection project and inaugurated the project to develop a new mosque in Fuvahmulah.

The Fuvahmulah City Coastal Protection Project was awarded to M.T. Højgaard Maldives Private Limited for a cost of USD 19.4 million. The project encompasses the construction of 2,650 metres of coastline protection walls from the north of Fuvahmulah harbour to the east of the island.

Moreover, the vice president inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony on a new mosque development project in Fuvahmulah City. The new mosque would be located near the harbour in the Dhoodigan district. The USD 772,900 project, funded by the government, would see the completion of the mosque within a year.

The mosque, which can accommodate up to 500 people, would feature modern architecture and design.
