Administration making revolutionary developmental progress: VP

Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated the administration is making revolutionary progress and advancements towards development. He made the statement while speaking at the signing ceremony of the coastal protection project, held at Fuvahmulah City.

Speaking about the numerous developmental projects ongoing across the country, Vice President noted that projects have been completed, or are underway, on each and every single island. In this regard, the vice president assured the administration does not regard the population size of islands when it comes to development.

Shedding light on the coastal protection project, the vice president remarked that Fuvahmulah is realising a long-awaited dream. He also noted the initiative launched had been in the planning stages for the past ten years. He further spoke about the other developmental initiatives underway in the city.

The Fuvahmulah City Coastal Protection Project was awarded to M.T. Højgaard Maldives Private Limited for a cost of USD 19.4 million. The project encompasses the construction of 2,650 metres of coastline protection walls from the north of Fuvahmulah harbour to the east of the island.

Along with the vice president, cabinet ministers, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Maldives Tanja Gonggrijp, and senior government and Fuvahmulah City officials attended the ceremony.
