President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has presented the awards to six recipients at the Riveli Awards 2021.
The Riveli Awards are given out by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services to individuals and organisations that support and assist people with disabilities.
At the ceremony, President Solih presented the Riveli Awards to Ahmed Saadhin, Mohamed Yamaam, Mohamed Ashham Ali, and Ahmed Athif. The awards were also given to Fenaka Corporation Limited for assisting people with disabilities and Jamaluddin School for providing an education to people with disabilities.
Also at the ceremony, First Lady Fazna presented special awards to the seven winners of the Riveli Thari competition held to showcase the talents of children with disabilities. As such, the awards were given to Mohamed Maaiz, Ahmed Nasir, Fathimath Ibrahim, Ahmed Saadhin, Hussain Saleem, Rayaan Riyaz Abdul Wahid, and Imaduddin School.
Furthermore, President Solih launched a special logo for use on products designed for children with special needs and a logo for their mobility aids at the ceremony.
Riveli Awards is a biennial award show that celebrates the achievements of individuals and organisations that support and assist people with disabilities.
