Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment has conducted a workshop on youth involvement in community building in Dhaalu Atoll.
The workshop was conducted with National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) at the Hafthaa Res Weekend Market in Kudahuvadhoo, Dhaalu Atoll.
Around 40 individuals from various islands in Dhaalu Atoll joined the workshop, in which young people were taught stress management techniques and critical thinking skills. They also learned the administration of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), their role in building communities, and the opportunities provided to the youth by the ministry. The participants at the workshop also discussed the various ways they can work together to solve the problems in their communities.
Speaking to PSM News, the young participants at the workshop said they have learned valuable skills during the workshop and thanked the ministry for the opportunity. The youth ministry and the NCTC also held workshops and information sessions for local councils, teachers, and parents during the weekend market.
