IASL decreases ticket fare for Dhaka

The national airline, Maldivian, has increased its luggage allowance and reduced the price of tickets between Dhaka, Bangladesh and Male', Maldives.

In this regard, one-way tickets are currently sold at a price of USD 225, and round tickets are sold at USD 406. Maldivian has said that luggage allowance has now been increased to 40 kg for travelers between Dhaka and Maldives.

Island Aviation Services Limited, which operates the airline, has said Maldivian currently operates three weekly flights between Dhaka and Velana International Airline (VIA). The flights are scheduled to be operated on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Bangladesh was among the first countries to operate flights to the Maldives since the country reopened its borders in July 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic. However, flights were also halted this year due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the Maldives.

Three weekly flights were scheduled to operate from August onwards.
