The National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), in association with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, has conducted a workshop in Dhaalu Atoll on building a peaceful and tolerant society.
The workshop was held as part of the National Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism. The workshop was targeted for the youth of Dhaalu Atoll, with the objective of strengthening community bonds and helping to build a peaceful and tolerant society.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Executive Director of Dhaalu Atoll Family and Children’s Services Ali Saud. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Saud said highlighted the importance of such programmes, noting it helps to renew and strengthen community bonds.
The workshop was attended by 24 officials from different island councils and women’s development committees of Dhaalu Atoll.
