No islands left without any developmental initiative underway: VP

Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated there are currently no islands left without any developmental initiatives underway with efforts to fulfill the pledges of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He made the statement while delivering remarks at the function held to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Hoarafushi Airport.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Naseem highlighted that airports are service hubs where people come from different parts of the country to seek services and urged service providers to work towards making it easier for those seeking services. The vice president said decentralising the country has been a key priority of the administration and that efforts to realise the target are being seen. He noted the government has achieved significant progress in initiating developmental projects across the nation within the past three years.

At the event, Vice President Naseem inaugurated the Regional Airports Monument and was presented with a commemorative plaque by the Hoarafushi Island Council and Regional Airports Company Limited. The vice president also participated in a tree-planting programme held to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Hoarafushi Airport and planted a tree in the area. Additionally, he visited and toured the Hoarafushi Health Centre and Haa Alifu Atoll School, where he met with the staff and conversed with them.
