HDC opens new water fountain in Hulhumale' Central Park

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened the new water fountain established in Hulhumale' Central Park.

The fountain was officially inaugurated on November 12 by Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan. This is the largest water fountain built in the Greater Male' Region. The fountain was built in an area of 20,000 square feet and is designed to have water elevate up to 15 metres in height.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Managing Director of HDC Suhail Ahmed said the fountain will become an important landmark of Hulhumale'. He added the fountain will serve as an attraction for residents as well as visitors of Hulhumale'.

Meanwhile, Fisheries Minister Hussain said such developments are brought for the benefit of the people, noting the fountain can become a place where people come to relax and seek peace of mind, and to spend some quality time with their families. He highlighted the importance of regular and frequent maintenance of such developments to extend its life span.

The fountain is built with a crossing bridge connecting two sides of the fountain, as a viewing platform at the centre of the fountain. The fountain will be operated every night.
