Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has prepared to commence the land reclamation for Maafushi Picnic Island.
Maafushi Picnic Island is a project initiated by the government to provide a comfortable environment for people to travel for leisure. The artificial island will be developed by reclaiming two hectares of land from the lagoon near Maafushi.
MTCC revealed the equipment for the land reclamation and shore protection project at Maafushi Picnic Island has been transported to the site and is set to commence soon. MTCC said the project, worth about USD 700,000, will depict the naturalness of islands.
