Home Minister, Police Commissioner travel to northern islands

Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla and Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed have begun an official trip to the northern islands.

The two officials arrived in Hoarafushi, Haa Alifu Atoll, to begin their trip to islands in the north and upper north region of the Maldives Police Service (MPS). They are scheduled to visit the islands in Haa Alifu Atoll, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Shaviyani Atoll, and Raa Atoll as part of the trip.

In the first leg of the trip, Minister Imran and Commissioner Hameed will be arriving in Thuraakunu, Haa Alifu Atoll, to inaugurate the new police desk established on the island.

They will next be visiting Kulhudhuffushi, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, to inaugurate the neighbourhood policing service on the island. Minister Imran and Commissioner Hameed are also scheduled to inaugurate police posts in Feydhoo, Shaviyani Atoll, and Hulhudhuffaaru, Raa Atoll. The two officials will also visit Ungoofaaru, Raa Atoll, as part of their trip.

Minister Imran and Commissioner Hameed are being accompanied on the four-day trip by senior officials of MPS.
