Bahrain's national airline, Gulf Air, has decided to increase its flight operations to the Maldives.
The airline plans to operate one daily flight to the Maldives from October 31 onwards, according to Gulf Air. As such, Gulf Air will operate flights from Bahrain International Airport to Velana International Airport (VIA).
Gulf Air flights are utilised by tourists from Middle-Eastern and European countries to travel to the Maldives. Gulf Air has also decided to increase flights to Istanbul, Dhaka and Colombo from October 31 onwards. Several airlines have begun flight operations to the Maldives for the peak season of tourism.
Overall, all operating airlines to the Maldives have increased the number of flights to the country commemorating the high season. Statistics released by the Tourism Ministry show that 34 airlines are currently operating flights to the Maldives.
