Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, Girish Chandra Murmu. The meeting was held at the President’s Office on October 25.
During the meeting, the vice president applauded India's CAG for the collaboration and support provided to the relevant authorities to improve their services by using his specialist experience. He also expressed gratitude to the Indian government for the assistance and contribution to the Maldives government's development priorities.
The Indian CAG indicated the willingness to assist the Maldives' authorities in capacity-building in the areas of good governance, health and education. He also expressed eagerness to collaborate in different areas to conduct audits, such as environment and information technology, stressing the significance of efficiently utilising limited resources.
In addition, the vice president and CAG highlighted some MoUs signed between the both governments. They also discussed ways to deepen the inherent relationship and the close ties between the two countries.
