Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has announced plans to host an event to celebrate International Home-Based Workers Day.
BCC stated all home-based workers in the country are invited to participate, display and sell their products and services at the event. The state-owned enterprise has opened the opportunity for individuals to register for the event online before 1200hrs on October 20.
Registered individuals will receive a stall to exhibition their products and services during the event. The event is expected to exhibit homemade food, makeup, face painting, and other home-based services and products in the Maldives. The event will be held from October 21 to 23 and will be hosted by BCC, which is a state-owned enterprise for projects conducted by small and medium enterprise (SME) projects initiated by the Ministry of Economic Development.
The purpose of marking International Home-Based Workers Day is to increase public awareness of the contributions of home-based workers and to advocate for more recognition.
