Presidential Medal conferred to top students of A'level exams

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conferred the first-ever presidential medal to students who were in the world's top one ranking for the 2019 A'Level examination.

The presidential medals were conferred to eight students in the top one ranking at the award ceremony for the A'Level top achievers of 2019.

President Solih as well as cabinet ministers and heads of companies presented various awards to high achieving students at the award ceremony. As such, awards were conferred to 219 students in the top 10 ranking, five students who received A* in five subjects, and four students who achieved A in five subjects.

Five students were also awarded for achieving full marks in accounting, while two students were given awards for achieving the top one ranking in business studies. A total of 1,715 Maldivian students took the A' Level examinations in 2019, resulting in 219 students from 20 schools achieving the world's top ten rankings.

The number of students participating in the A' Level examinations have been increasing year by year with more Maldivian students achieving top results.

The government has pledged to provide more opportunities in various sectors for students who complete their education.
