Sri Lankan Airlines to begin scheduled flights to the Maldives from MRIA

Sri Lankan Airlines has decided to launch scheduled flights to the Maldives from Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) in southeast Sri Lanka. The flights from MRIA to the Maldives will begin on October 14.

The general sales agent of Sri Lankan Airlines in the Maldives, Ace Aviation Private Limited revealed direct flights between MRIA and Velana International Airport (VIA) in the Maldives will cost USD 307 per person. Ace Aviation revealed flights between MRIA and VIA that go through Colombo will cost USD 401.

Sri Lankan Airlines is operating scheduled flights from MRIA as part of efforts to reduce the traffic at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. The national airline of Maldives, Maldivian had also previously operated scheduled flights from MRIA.
